ABOUT LISA
Growing up on the shores of southern California, from an early age Lisa was influenced by the dynamic Los Angeles beach scene. As an avid long-distance ocean swimmer, Lisa found herself merging her daily passions... her love of frolicking in the rhythms of the sea, into a creative and lucrative Junior Surf Swimwear business; 8.5 Quake Swimware was launched. She spent many years expressing herself in a world of textiles, patterns, surf fashion and exhibiting in Swimwear shows from Honolulu to Florida. Lisa’s design work evolved over the years, into many aspects of Retail sportswear. She opened 4 sportswear boutiques in southern California where she wore many hats, working in all aspects of the high-end Fitness/Spa industry; from buying, marketing, store design and management.
In 2005, on a much-needed southwest vacation road trip (with her then husband), they stumbled into the beautiful desert mountain town of Santa Fe New Mexico, and fell in love with it! The diverse culture, the architecture and the explosive art scene ignited something and they decided to make a move and jump headfirst into the community, opening an Art gallery in the center of the Plaza. As Lisa delved into the inner circles of this reclusive hidden gem of a town, her eyes opened to what would be a life long calling. Over the next 12 years, she managed 2 retail galleries in Santa Fe, and spent much time on the road as Sales and Marketing manager, jurying high end Art and Museum shows throughout the country.
Lisa’s exposure gave her profound insight to the life of “the true Artist.” She realized how many amazing, talented artists desperately needed representation and exposure as so many of them would prefer to simply Create. This is the preferred life of a true artist and can be a difficult and sometimes lonely road. She knew at that time, she could play a critical role as a liaison between the art collector and the artist, while living her own dream.
L3 ART DECOR was born on behalf of all the incredible, whimsical, talented and vibrant souls Lisa has been graced to meet along the road. "To all those honey bee creatives... I salute you! I see you!"
Outside the Gallery: Retired CEO and Founder of UNDERDOG RESCUE, (2002-2015), A passionate animal rescuer and foster Mom, her heart goes to the dogs. Lisa also enjoys a good hike, yoga, dancing, an ocean swim, a romp with farm animals and a good laugh.
MAGDALEN BOYD-WILSON

ABOUT MAGDALEN
Magdalen is originally from England and Scotland, and grew up around the world, including Toronto, Hong Kong, New York, Tokyo and California. With a father being a landscape painter and international banker, she was exposed to art and design from a young age. Her passion for art, sculpture, architecture and design, led her to study Fine Art at Parson’s School of Design, in New York City, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
After graduating, Magdalen head West to California where she learned to build; working construction, hammering nails, tiling and painting decorative faux finishes throughout San Diego. Her love of architecture led her to work with internationally-known sculptor, James Hubbell. His masterful work combines organically sculptured concrete architecture combined with stained glass, carved wood doors, embellishments of brass, copper, wrought iron, and meandering mosaics, all merged with the natural landscape. Magdalen's work at the Hubbell studio included metalwork, woodwork, mosaic, architectural drafting, designing, model building, but most importantly, transforming her "Minds Eye"... exploring innovative ways to build and live with the natural world with limitless artistic expression. Hubbell’s sculptural architecture and artistry still remains some of California’s finest treasures.
For the past 25 years, Magdalen has been creating unique environments, using a wide range of mediums including large-scale murals, artistic design works, sacred mandalas, faux finishes, sculptural wall features, metal lighting and fire-pit artworks. As an Interior designer she is well-versed in color consulting, space-planning, kitchen/bath design, stone/tile/mosaics, furnishings, and more. She continues to developed her talents with computer graphics and CAD programs to help seamlessly in the design process.
From decorating century-old castles in the UK, to modern houses of California, Magdalen has been transforming homes and businesses into powerful, poetic and memorable environments, and now joins Lisa Lee in L3 ART DECOR, building a path for Artists and Visionaries like herself.
Beyond the Design Studio: Magdalen draws inspiration from music, dancing, distant cultures, ancient designs, animals and walking with the natural world.
